In 2016, Patricia Darby opened up a unique car repair shop.  If you are a woman who loves to multi-task and be pampered, this is the place for you!

Patricia, who initially worked as an engineer making six figures, walked away from her engineering career at DuPont, went to night school and learned how to become an automobile mechanic in a male-dominated industry.

Many women dread taking their car to the mechanic because most garages are male-dominated and they feel intimidated and concerned that they will get taken advantage of with unnecessary car repairs.

In 2016, Patricia opened the Girls Auto Clinic repair center, located in Upper Darby, PA.

Her car garage is run and employed by women mechanics.

And get this… there is nail & hair salon available for her customers to utilize while they wait for their vehicle to be repaired or routine maintenance is performed.

How fantastic is that!

In a recent article about her shop, Patricia stated, “I started thinking about opening this shop. …[For] women, it’s like a chore, we hate going in to get our oil changed — it’s always a chore, it’s always a burden. But we look forward to doing things like getting our nails done. And so I thought it would just be cute and just [be] the cherry on the top when I tell people, “I have a shop that caters to women. Full service auto repair, all female mechanics!” They’re like, “Woah!” I’m like, “And there’s a nail salon there [too].”

It’s a win-win for both Patricia and her clients!

Patricia, not only keeps her client’s hair and nails in tip-top shape, her technicians help to educate their clientele on what is wrong with their vehicles and how to use the correct terminology to make sure their cars are getting repaired correctly, and they are not getting taken advantage of.
